Okay, if you build a mini website for someone — 4 pages, mostly copy and a couple images — and you decide to use WordPress *and* Elementor, you should not be working in the web development industry. Leave now, and don't look back.

I can't see these things and keep quiet. These folks are part of the reason why I had to pivot to something entirely different. Since it still hurts, I'm going to mug you off for a while.

@m2m WordPress and Elementor were tools built to enable people like these to build websites anyway, and I like that you don’t need to enlist an HTML/CSS wizard who served in the Table Design Wars to build a 4 pages website anymore.

@m2m 🫣 I do some work for an agency and they like it, so I do it.

Any opportunity to get my hands dirty though I will, and honestly since being on Mastodon and talking to other devs I've really enjoyed moving more towards what I was doing 15-20 years ago.

#eleventy has helped in that regard.
