Maybe this was explained somewhere but I had to figure this out all by myself. Did I miss anything?

If public funding for the arts is a way of ensuring artists can survive and thrive while enriching culture for everyone, NFTs are the mirror-universe evil twin, a way of securing funding by pandering to unthinkable egoism that's directly opposed to the public good

here's a little demo of a workflow im excited about. in the *middle of a set* i can stream audio into renoise, chop it up, and livecode it on the fly! i *love* the idea of opening up you tube dot com in the middle of a live performance to grab a new sample lol

building the future is not a purely technical project, I don't even think it's a primarily technical project. it's a project of community and people, which is to say is inherently political. I think that word is a turn off to many programmers in the West who (due to Cold War era education I guess?) are effectively politically illiterate. and when you insist on being "apolitical" then all you can do is bolster the status quo. this is not how you make progress.

progress on my Renoise livecoding instrument! it's at a point where it's actually fun to play?? I'm calling it 8FL, pronounced "eight eff ell" or "8th floor". it's a Fennel REPL that leverages Renoise's Lua API and uses pattern abstractions inspired by Clojure, Tidal Cycles, and the Polyend tracker hardware.

I'm nervous but I'm performing using this stack on Friday at Wonderville in Brooklyn! if you are around come through! withfriends.co/event/12661166/

As an exercise I'll try and create a synth patch every day in October. I'll have to back-date, though. I am not very punctual.

All recordings/loops in this series are CC0 / public domain.

O01 - Novation Peak, classic white noise, osc, filter.

tapping into streaming live events 'business', testing my laptop+obs+3xHDMI-USB, and it seems to work fine. on Thursday we have two simultaneous streamings from different locations. hope things don't go (too) wrong.

Still, I have not found any Indonesian people in this web. Please boost so any Indonesian can follow and meet me.

Hi. I'm Malcolm. I lost my job to COVID so I'm setting up a project called Minimal Click. It's an ethical experimental #smalltech research studio in Bath, UK.

I've created it to explore code, tools, products and services using sustainable and ethical business practices through the utilisation of open source tools and methodologies.

veggie, anarchic, designer, developer, tutor, always learning, makes music, bought up in the countryside, love is the way. x

Happy everyone! I have a little one-track thingie:

16 minutes of slow, harmonious experimental made with .

It is name-your-price and licensed under the Peer Production license, and if you can pay anything, that helps a queer neurodivergent artist stay afloat.

I'll make a thread with some recommendations - just music I enjoy:

Spiritbox - from Vancouver. I normally don't listen to metalcore, but "Constance" has given me earworms multiple times. spiritboxofficial.bandcamp.com
