why have companies/apps ceased to explain their product on their homepage? Look at this page about a privacy something something app (i don;t know what it does, only that firefox/mozilla recomends it).

I have to actually go to google play store to read what this app does!

@noisevember continues with this little ditty about hanging out in a park in Munich. Again, any comments on mixing / mastering are appreciated as I am experimenting with different methods each time.

fashwave - is it still a thing?

@kat

I feel like vaporwave is spiritually connected to the noise genre. Not just for it's focus on timbre, but because it's a magnet for trans composers.

Early british noise used a lot of nazi imagery. They wanted to use shocking waste, so this undercurrent has always been there.

I now refuse to take another computer science class unless it's taught to me via Hungarian folk dance

Got some vacation and am sitting in a park during beautiful warm fall weather. An old man on a bench nearby is practising some kind of Japanese flute, which makes for a really nice atmosphere. Glad I got here at the right time.

(And yes, that's a tiny dog (not mine) in a baby car (actually a tiny dog car). It's a thing here.)

"After years of budget cuts, our main funders have now decided to no longer support STEIM at all anymore. STEIM, as a formal organisation, will cease to exist, and we are still thinking about different scenarios to keep our ideas and our practices alive. Some of our projects and activities will continue, sometimes on a smaller scale, but typically involving existing partners and new ones as well. It may take a while to figure out a new approach, but we will not give up."

@noisevember I'm happy with this. I'm sloooowly moving from writing synths to starting making mezzo-time level structures....

shot in the dark re: : I can maybe get my hands on a Digidesign Mbox2. How hard is it to get it running under Manjaro, specifically with Ardour? Anyone here who happens to have experience with that?

picked up a monome arc last week -- definitely the fanciest controller I own. here I've set up the outer two encoders as "bows" controlling a saw wave going through two filters (lop lift, hip right). very expressive, needs some fine tuning, and pd doesn't like it that much.

just remembered stumbling upon OSSIA Score some time ago -- awesome project some media people here might be interested in! It's kind of like a sequencer for interactive continuous control, supports a number of protocols (incl MIDI and OSC), and is _really_ deep.
