Can I 'dd' a windows partition to an iso on an external USB drive with possibility thay i can later mount the iso on a linux system to get files from it?

@luka yea. file extension for those is usually img tho

@luka should be possible. you could also use disk2vhd to create a vhd or vhdx file on windows and mount that on your linux box.

@luka disk2vhd has the big advantage that you can do it while the windows box is running if that's a priority to you

@tom @SwooshyCueb thanks for all advice. At the end i did just a rsync of Users folder. I think if anything will need to be salvaged it will be in there.
