The question isn't whether people "care" about or not. Everyone does. The question is if they understand that less privacy is a issue, not just a one. The question is if they understand what it actually means to be on commercial social media; who they're feeding & how. The question is if they have any other option.

@hider Most people tend to do what is most practical to them. Also there's a lot of peer pressure where people have given up and started using WhatsApp in spite of being aware of the privacy issues.

@gunchleoc For sure, and BigTech capitalists have certainly made their proprietary software nearly inescapable at this point. Either way, what people know (or even want) isn't necessarily enough, and BigTech capitalists has to go, for good. Or at least face some real, noticeable regulations.
